Yes, greed can be like poison. When I was very young, it was a pleasure helping out musicians and singers for little or no pay.... They did'nt make much in the clubs either as they struggled to make a name for themselves. I would set up the sound equipment, take pictures, and later on did radio promotion work. All of this "payed off" in other ways later, as I became well known enough to be on the guest list of some good bands, and this was a good way to impress a date! <g> One night the keyboard player of a top Jersey band decided to go home just before show time in front of a packed house, so I was sent to go fetch him back, but nothing I could do would change his mind, and the band tried to play with the keyboard player from another lesser well known band, but he did'nt know the songs too well.... Sounded horrible and I cringed! Those were the days. Merry Christmas.
