Not sure what you mean. Everyone started with approx $100k distributed according to their portfolio allocation, I adjusted some portfolios to account for mergers, e.g. RSTA->MRK.

I agree with the five (5) stock minimum portfolio. Reduces the likelihood of someone "gaming" the process. Any other suggestions?

One thing that would make it easier to administer is if everyone would make their entry in two parts: (1) List of stocks (min 5)and portfolio allocation %,together with the charity and pledge amount, and later (2) The number of shares that your allocation produced using 31 Dec 2001 closing bid, together with the 31 Dec 2001 closing bid itself. The two parts need not be submitted together i.e. make pledge and picks first, then later send in the share details.

The second part is optional. I will eventually do the calculations if needed, but it may take me a while to get around to all of the entries.

Random thoughts:
This is a buy-and-hold contest, if your little biotech gets munched by big pharma for stock you own pharma until year end. ( If you get munched for 100% cash then the cash value is used to buy more of your original picks.) Be careful you may get what you asked for :>)
