Otherwise, AMD should be making money. AMD management spends inordinate amounts of time touting their smaller die sizes and their large number of wafers used at their two wafer mega-plants.

What you will find is this; Droids will take the number of Athlons produced, assume good yields and then calculate backwards to arrive at the number of wafers needed to produce the number of Athlons sold if the yields were good. They will then claim that AMD is running a reduced number of wafers instead of full capacity therefore that proves they have good yields. Why they are running at less than full capacity is a mystery that no one has explained. Especially when AMD has stated they are capacity constrained, not demand constrained. A much simplier explanation is that AMD is running at full capacity and their yields stink.
