TC and all,

Best wishes for a Happy Holiday Season and a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.

Don't think you'll remember, TC, the question I asked in Message 16660009 , but apparently there was no limit as I had a tech install an IBM 10000rpm SCSI 18.1 gig drive and it works great... fast and almost inaudible it's so quiet and a full 18+ gigs.

I've got a question that probably borders on the real novice. When I did a clean install of WIN98 SE on the drive, I chose not to use a password. Now I need one to keep prying little fingers and eyes from wiping out my trusty old workhorse. I went into control panel and passwords and entered a password and rebooted. The box for entering the password popped-up and works fine... except I can bypass it by just hitting the escape key and it continues to boot normally. Therefore, using the password is worthless. What am I doing wrong? How can I password the computer so you really have to type in the password for Windows (98SE) to load?

Many thanks to any and all who have the answer.

Best always,

Marty
