If white North American people use the term "gringo" toward each other it is probably similar to Black Americans using the N word when talking to each other. Testy, but hardly discriminatory. When some one out side either group uses either of these terms it is demeaning, insulting, meant to inflict pain, and discriminatory. For a North American to endorse such usage, seems like self recrimination and an open door to discrimination. Am I missing something?
