Some unconfirmed reports stated until this morning that some officials had spoken about 'Pakistan conveying through unofficial channels to India its inability at present time to with draw its full 11th Corp from Northern borders hence the possibility of a full blown out war going out of hands.' The rules of engagment in that region has been open since last 5 decades, the in-ability to fight a conventional war in face of two heated borders is in fact a request to understand Pakistan strategic nightmare, that of a war on two fronts. In such a case reliance on 'nuclear option increases.' Indian politicans have to understand that in present crisis calling bluff and playing 'chicken' could be very suicidial, I have reiterated India's strength many a time and its ability to wash out Pakistan but if senses do not prevail, we all will be losers. I think India by keeping the pressure is doing fine, it gives teeth to Pakistan Army to get the evil doers, and on the other hand such back channel approaches makes that difference that avoids war and makes peace.

All wars start with very little and limited objectives but get out of hand, in present case I hope politicians can reach a settlement that may kill the root of evil without excessive engagements. That is the art of strategic diplomacy.
