<<Whatever minor quantity of silver that is used in contact points is dwarfed by the loss in the reduction of use in the transformation in photography to digital. >>

Photography is far fully transformed, & there are indications that there will be an ongoing photographic use of silver in printing of digital photos that one wishes to long term display. There have sprung up a great many companies which custom print digital photos onto a silver based paper! While there is now less film use, there will be an ongoing future use of silver in photos, and the silver in photos will be less available fore reclamation than from the prior negatives / slides.
