Glass and steel have greatly displaced wood in construction and that trend will continue. What you call glass and metal will pretty much completely disappear from construction too. Further, wood will be harvested and woven or reconstituted with polymers for construction material. Wood consumption will fall to 1/100 of the what we use now. None of my claims is even surprising. They're unavoidable and follow what has been the history of materials. I'm surprised at your narrow mindedness since such attitudes deny what has already taken place. You speak so confidently against what is trivially true. It's trivial because the rate of improvement in materials has accelerated. This is more than evident when you visit a Home Depot.
