Mr. G -

The standard response "Recent 80 % stock price decline was an orchestrated attack by short sellers."

Has this ever been the case? Has a stock dropped a large percentage of its market cap only to recover after routing the rumor mongers?

(Don't mean to be dense - but there are so many genuinely puffed up manipulated stocks out there - why would any shortseller, even if he was an evil genius, bother with a legit firm?)
