Cuba is a repressive regime which has in the past fomented violence in CA and throughout the world. Millions of dollars in US interests were seized by the Castro regime without compensation. Political and religious freedom is nearly non-existent. The Republic of Cuba is poor and starving not because it is embargoed but because it is a repressive regime which stymies political and economic freedoms. After all, what is there that the Cubans could not buy from France, UK, Canada, etc., that they could buy from the US without an embargo? We should give no aid to any regime which seeks to destroy those principles we adhere to and toppling such regimes is a worthy goal. Cuba also provides a good and continuing example ot its neighbors as of why it is not a good idea to tread on US interests.
