The BIOS suggestion I made is independent of Win98. Using the password feature in the BIOS prevents any unauthorized use of your PC at all. It cannot be circumvented without taking your PC physically apart.

You access the BIOS immediately on bootup and before Win98 starts to load using a key sequence I described in my earlier post. I am not aware of any PC models that allow you to bypass this password with the Escape key or any other sequence. Win98 however, does allow you to bypass but that is not what I am suggesting.
