Asking God to help even those who may not at the present believe in him is, I think, a far different thing from intentionally belittling peoples' beliefs.

You said: "And God bless all those who believe in him, and help those who don't." You have divided people into two classes, one of which deserves blessings and one of which is in need of help. This is not belittling?

I, too, have divided people into two classes. One class includes adults who still believe in a Santa-Claus-like entity and everybody else. Those who subscribe to the first group I find, er, corny. Yes, that is belittling.

My question continues to be: what is the difference? Belittle is belittle.
