Here are the highlights from the Featured Expert column:

The debasement of our money was slow and constrained until 1971. But when Nixon removed that one constraint against the immoral act of theft by counterfeit, our policy makers and bankers were set for a wealth confiscation scheme by way of monetary profusion on a par never before seen in the world. I do believe it is an accident that the pattern of exponential growth of Dr. Swenson's profusion curve shown on page 3 correlates very closely with the pattern of exponential growth of M-3 shown in the chart above on the right side of this page.

One bit of data I wished I had, but did not have time to retrieve before press time, is total U.S. private and public sector debt. That debt is highly significant because once gold was detached from the dollar, we adapted a fiat or liability-based monetary system that can only be manufactured by the creation of debt. Thus, as M-3 and other measures of monetary profusion occur, by definition we have debt profusion. And as we have been hammering away week after week and month after month, it is this enormous growth of debt that dooms the American financial system into what Ian Gordon has labeled the Kondratieff winter or in other words, the second Great Depression of the past 100 years.

When the dollar eventually collapses, there will be a global run out of paper into gold and most likely silver and also to currencies that are far less overvalued than the dollar. Also currencies Like the Euro, which have substantially more gold backing them than the dollar, may fare well compared to the dollar. Given the huge amount of fiat money created since 971, the price of gold and silver will be bid up to levels that are unfathomable to people who accept without question the CNBC version of our financial system. Only a relative handful of people, who understand the precarious position the dollar is in, will be positioned for gold's move. Indeed, we believe that when the system breaks down, gold could rise to well over $400 in a very short order. And while it will still have much further to run on the upside, given the frenzy for gold mining stocks, it is most prudent to buy the mining shares now, while the remain at the cheapest levels since the 1960's. Thus, we remain convinced our 20% allocation to gold and silver stocks and our 2% allocation to gold and silver coins is prudent given our views of where our economy is headed.

The main stream media want no part of the gold price fixing reality because it means an end to the stock market orgy. The media itself is up to its eyeballs in the market deception and spin that has become such a prominent part of our culture. Thus, they have largely emasculated the attempts of GATA to take this most important story to the public. Yet in time, the truth will be known. The only question in my mind is whether GATA's work and/or the anti gold price fixing court case will first trigger a move from paper into gold or whether natural market forces will cause a global meltdown that triggers the move from paper to gold. Either way, GATA will have performed a very important service by establishing and setting the record straight as to what has led enormous economic dislocations that will ultimately mandate a move from paper to gold.

Corner Bay Silver Inc. (Toronto: BAY - news)

The trouble is, when it comes to silver mining stocks, it is very difficult to find pure silver mining plays. We already have some exposure to silver in our portfolio by way of our holdings in Itronics (OTC Bulletin Board: ITRO - news) and Minefinders (Toronto: MFL - news). But Itronics, with its amazing revolutionary new environmentally friendly Gold'n Gro liquid fertilizer invention is more of a fertilizer story than a silver play. And, Minefinders is a gold and silver play. And most companies that tout themselves as silver mining companies have equal or greater values coming from lead, zinc or copper than from silver.

Masuparia Gold Corporation (CDNX: MPG - news)

As far as I know, no one has recommended this stock any time recently. That, along with the depressed gold mining industry may explain why the shares of MPG can be bought at barely more than the value of its corporate shell, even as management reported some very impressive drill results. With 35 million shares outstanding, the company's market cap is a miniscule $1.5 million. Based on existing mineralization, there would seem to be plenty of room for the market cap of this company to multiply several fold from its current level.

Response Biomedical Corp (CDNX: RBM - news)

Response Biomedical develops and manufactures quantitative, diagnostic products that improve patient care by providing cost-effective rapid and accurate medical information at the point-of-care.

The company's patented RAMP system delivers highly accurate diagnostic results in approximately 10 minutes. That enables immediate medical decision making in hospitals, clinics, emergency rooms and doctors' offices which in turn can lead to the saving of lives as well as money and time. As such, RBM is another example of a technology stock which has the potential to do what we insist technology stocks must do in order to be included among our technology selections. That is, its technology can be used to reduce the cost of providing an ESSENTIAL service. Where as Itronics Inc. reduces the cost of producing food and International Wex reduces the cost of treatment for opiate addiction, RBM can reduce the cost of analyzing life threatening disease. successfully completed feasibility of a RAMP PSA test to diagnose and monitor prostate cancer.
