In 1492 when Spain began to hunt down Jews and kick them out, at the same time they were kicking out the Moslems (Granada fell at this time), Jews found a welcome home in the Muslim East. In the West in the Christian empires they were given the choice to convert, die, or get out. Sometimes even those who converted were killed in subsequent bouts of intolerance, as the Jews who converted were suspected of secretly holding on to their religion. Muslims and Jews are not natural enemies. The problem is that England artificially divided up the region- the prerogative of a colonialist imperial power- and then gave away land belonging to people living on it, to the Jews as a homeland. If part of Texas had suddenly been given to Jews as a homeland, and Texans had been told to move, no doubt there would have been a certain amount of nastiness between Texans and the new Jewish state. What "they" (all those differnt Muslim, Christian falangists, etc ) want varies. A great majority of Palestinians merely want peace and stability. Of course those aren't the young male Palestinians you see on TV, nor are they the Palestinians who blow people up with suicide bombs. Looking at the figures for how many Palestinians have been killed by Jews you COULD say Israelis just want to kill Palestinians- of course that would be a gross overstatment, just as your statement is.

You have ridiculously simplified the matter .
