Go with Win2k Pro without a doubt.

Back when I was heavy into trading, Win98 crashed all the charting, trading, etc applications after a while. Plus Win98 just plain crashes because that is what it does best.

Win2k is amazing. I hardly ever reboot. And it handles everything really well. Rock solid.

Win2k, when it first came out, had problems with some drivers and such. But that is same way XP is today. Vendors needed to catch up. It's 2002. Win2k and vendors have had plenty of time to develop. I can't think of any program or peripheral that I used to use or have needed to use that won't run on Win2k.
