How is it wrong? We pay lip service to free trade. We have claimed in the past that exposing people to the ideas of freedom is the best way to help them gain freedom. We found with Germany, with Italy, with Japan, that the way to turn enemies into friends is not to blockade them, not to embargo them, but to be a friend. We have turned all those lessons on their head wrt Cuba.
