Monica: And you, sir, are ignoring that up until a few months ago, AMD claimed that this was a 6,000 wafer start per week fab. Both numbers (5k and 6k) have been mentioned on and off again. I've simply used the number listed on their web site and have no idea which is the more correct. Do you? Most likely, Fab 30 was already running at 80% to 90% capacity in the last quarter - Q3. This is directly contrary to claims made by AMD management during that time. I believe a figure of 2/3 was used towards the end of Q3. AMD further claimed that Fab 30 would achieve the "new" full capacity of 5000 WSPW this quarter Yes, AMD did claim this at one point&#133 before the economy went into Da Dumpster. If you could find a recent claim of this, I would appreciate a link. AMD is not going to be at full capacity in Fab30 this Q (Q4). It was decided that it made more sense to ramp directly to .13µm, instead of doing .18µm first, then converting those lines a few months later. In a time of recession and reduced demand, that is a most logical decision. (If I get some time later I will try and look up a few quotes for you. I believe AMD claimed that they were no longer ramping .18µm in Fab30 at one point&#133 maybe mid-Q3 or so.) -fyo
