I would question the "profitable" part. Suppose you could cut Intel in 2 halfs, one half would have only CPUs above the overall ASP, the other half bellow the overall ASP. Plus, each half would get half of the "other" Intel divisions. The lower would never make any money, even during the best of times.
Well I can understand how that frightened you but it is certain and leaves no doubt. You should call it good F.
LOL. It seems like when things look so certain, like money in the bank, some nasty surprises tend to pop up, like the tool vendor ceasing to exist, leakage currents, 50W notebook chips that nobody wants, the SMT spending another year on-deck, SOI (or should I say a lack of it), PC market remaining depressed, and that upstart PITA competitor that has been buried so many times rearing its ugly head with processor surpassing anything Intel has, resulting in a "shortage" of a processor that can somewhat compete with it.
