Alexa, Having read a few of you posts, I see that we share many similarities, including: adoption, economic strata, parents, education, volunteerism, and achievement. We also share an unattractive tendency to demean the roots of our personal renaissance. In doing so we demean ourselves, and perpetuate the self-myth that we have "escaped". We now associate with just as many idiots and scoundrels as we ever have/will, and our class distinctions are mere illusions. Ultimately what we rail against in others (on an individual and group level) is what we most dislike in ourselves--our experience with our own faults is a prerequisite to the perception of those same faults in others. What we "see" is our imagination. Rick
