I agree that Emmanuel "Toto" Constant is suspected of many crimes. I believe also Jean-Claude "Baby Doc" Duvalier stole the countries treasury when he fled to France. Both should be extradited and stand trial. That's a good issue raise. I hope Haiti is successful in prosecuting it's many criminals that have abused power. If Noam Chromsky narrowed his complaints to a few outstanding cases were wrong was clearly being done by USA authorities, he might stand in a better light... Only fight the wars you know you can win. Trouble is Noam Chromsky's criticism is almost across the board...every aspect of what the USA does abroad.

Back to Afghanistan. I am fairly sure that the Taliban authorities would have manipulated the drought situation to the max degree. Food distribution would have been suspect right the way through this coming year. They were as much part of Al-Qa'ida as anyone. That would have been a fruitless negotiation imho, trying to get OBL arrested. They did have at least one month to comply, the request was effectively completely ignored, to no ones surprise.

Fly an airplane into the Pentagon, it is not just a civil matter anymore. USA government acted appropriately.

My appreciation is that Noam Chromsky would do a more effective job if he had supported the USA Afghan campaign, and stood firm on some other issues. That would have impressed me.
