Albert,
Re: That depends on why. from the recent news:
1)amd is expected to ship more chips this quarter
2)samsung seems to have problem getting athlons cheap
3)amd is gaining ground in commercial
4)amd is gaining at mobile market

You didn't answer my question. I said On a more germane point, what do you think of AMD's disappearance from United States retail lately?

All of those points you make are nice for AMD (if true), but at what price? The US market? If I own stock in a car company, I want to see their new car lots on the auto rows around the country. If I own Coke or Pepsi, I want to see their products on sale at Safeway. I just don't understand how AMD can let its products disappear from US retail. There is a lot to the phrase Out of sight, Out of mind, and just maybe the American public forgets AMD exists. Maybe AMD is throwing in the towel because of the spectre of Northwood coming, and is consigning themselves to whiteboxes and second and third world countries.
