Hi Michael,

I am curious about your timing as KOPN is a critical technical point. A break of 13.50 could send KOPN to weak support at 12 and then strong support at 10.5.

I expect KOPN to have good numbers this Q due to the market share gains due to shipment to camcorder manufacturers, but I would expect the absolute number of camcorder shipments to be down going forward due to the seasonal effect and weaker overall demand due to the mature product line that it represents. The timing of the increase in share versus decreasing absolute numbers and its effect on revenues I have no idea.

HBT sales I expect to pick up due to the seeming improved demand for handsets, but again there is a seasonal effect and demand for 2.5G and 3.0G handsets still lacks some visiblity (3.0G looks like 2003 at the earliest now except for Japan). Though the JNPR pre-warning conference call seems to be suggesting that 2.5G is gaining traction and they are comfort with the projected demand in the near future. Text message seems to be the driving element for users. The TQNT pre-warning is an issue as they are a customer. This might offset the positive effect of the CNXT/AHAA combination of facilities.

On the VCSEL side, demand is still weak if the JNPR and CIEN warnings are any indication and as NT was the largest customer I don't expect a re-bound till 2H 2002 at the earliest with the release of NT's new product.

I still have a position in this stock in my long term holding, I am just trying to voice some of the negatives for this stock, so I can get some feedback on my thinking.
As you can gather, I like them long term. I just have some questions about whether now is there time to turn it around totally.
