Gottried, I bought my current Sony Vio about a year ago. I too use USB mouse and detached keyboard. John, as for my Sony Vio, nothing bad to say, it has been good for me. And not one key has ever popped off. I have owner 4 portibles during the past years. Toshiba and Compac were not as favorible as the Sony. I didn't like Toshiba's pointer in between the keys, the Sony has a touch pad. Good luck with the Sony. Stan
