greg, >I am still concerned, looking forward, that AMD's success will be truncated as I look at the roadmaps for each firm and I'm still concerned about the spector of diminished competition going forward.

That is the "right" thing to say, but didn't Intel clean up during the early X86, K5 and K6 dog days? I mean, I don't remember IBM complaining about lack of competition in their halcyon days. Then again, they did become known as a constipated elephant for a while. Doesn't Intel have enough internal competition going on among development groups to more or less ensure continuing development of competitive products? I don't know, just guessing.
