i have a dual boot system with win98, partitions c & e, on the first eide channel and win2K, partitions d,f & g, on the second channel. win2k is so stable that i never use the win98 drive except for backup images on e.

what i would like to do is format c & e, install win2k on c and convert both to ntfs. i would still just use e for images of d & f, but i like the idea of having a stable os on both drives.

the question is will a dual boot system work if both drives are win2k? Also, when i format the partitions will the drive names change? It's been a while since i've done this and my memory is vague on this point. I do have partition magic 4, so perhaps that could straighten out any problems. i believe i used it when originally partitioning the drives.

thanks
belker
