The Argentine default has been in process for what - 15 months ? maybe 2 years? Also, the idea of Argentina having a crisis - is that a surprise ? Doesn't their constitution require one every 10 years ? elmatador - is anyone in Brazil surprised ? Enron, Japan, 9/11 are different.... That being said, I think we are in a sort of slow motion crisis, where the Fed and IMF and others let things (like the market) down gently.... A long slow crash, sort of like a Cruise ship plowing into a wooden dock at about 3 knots....you can temporarily outrun the chaos, but it doesn't stop comming.
