18 consecutive years of Democrat governors in the State of Washington with no sign of any Republican likely to win election. In November, there was a special election to fill two vacant seats in the House. Republicans poured large sums of money into the 21st (formerly held by a Republican) but the Democrats won both seats and control the state house for the first time since 1994. The Republican Revolution of 1994 has been completely repealed in the State of Washington. Since 1994, the Republican House has consistently blocked any improvements in highways so the Puget Sound area now has some of the worst traffic congestion in the nation. That is the main reason why Democrats won in the 21st - a suburban district north of Seattle. The point is there is no sign that the popularity of Bush is having any effect on State and Local elections or Senate or House seats.
