About 90 percent of the change in orders the last two months appears to be government orders in the wake of the big defense budgets passed. It sure is difficult to get raw, unadjusted data from the DOC re: orders to really see what's going on. There was a big jump in jobless claims this month but that was basically adjusted out by their forumulas.
