Indian soldiers killed laying mines Police and army officials say 12 Indian soldiers have been killed laying mines to deter Pakistani tanks. They say gunfire has also resumed across the border in the Jammu region of Jammu-Kashmir state along the disputed Line of Control. India is refusing to hold peace talks with Pakistan until it stops the backing of Islamic guerrillas fighting Indian security forces in Kashmir. Meanwhile, India has begun preparations to camouflage the Taj Mahal out of fear of Pakistani airstrikes. Tailors are stitching more than 400 meters of khaki, black and green cloth, to be strung across the legendary 17th century marble mausoleum. Workers also have started construction of five bunkers to house armed guards around the monument.
