The perception of the US's total and one-sided support of Israel is wrong, for example, as it negates what the US has done to advance Palestinian statehood and Middle East peace.

It's wrong in that sense, but right in another sense that the Western press does not acknowledge openly: it is the position of the US that Israel has a right to exist and should continue to exist. Since most Arab countries think Israel should be destroyed, the US position naturally amounts to total and one-sided support in their eyes.

As for what we've done for the Palestinians, you're not seriously suggesting that anyone but the Palestinians cares for the Palestinians, are you?
