Whort, Well, I can only ask and speculate about tech matters as I am not an EE, so you will see me look for explanations from others. I have picked up enough to know when there is an argument between unequals and I try not to challenge people who know a lot more than I do in their area of knowledge, unless I see something that seems to be against first principals. We often see the 'bees make claims that are not supportable for propaganda reasons, same for Amdites, and if it looks fishy I challenge it. Often it is fishy, just some 'bee puffery to enhance their claims, and vice versa.
Both of these groups denature their effectiveness. There are also some of both groups that do not make outlandish claims and argue realistically and admit it when AMD or Intel has caught a crab and lost a few lengths in the race. These people establish a reputation for credibility and you can generally trust what they say.
Now pgerassi is in that trustable group, so even when I do not understand both sides of the argumant I tend to his side for the aforesaid reasons.
As for investing, I tend to try to look for long term trends with AMD, I recall making comments about the p-4 shortage quite a while back and commenting on how it would boost AMD in some way, asp or whatever worked out of the mix. It now sems that the shortage and the good ability of the XP chip in partnership with SD shops all over the world have allowed AMD to grab quite a lot of extra business, esp in Europe as well as increase the ASP of the XP.
