I hope the family you helped out makes it. It's tough times for the people up here as well. I noted a headline the other night that said "Boeing might move jobs to Japan."
Even my mother has come around. She voted for Bush!!! . Now, she learns from her local newspapers how his policies may eventually wipe out the middle class.
Since so many people are out of work, I'm not sure that Afghanistan will remain on the front pages for a very long period of time here. When there isn't much food in the house, people lose interest in supporting war that is a long ways from home.

I wondered who would get sick this Christmas in my family. On Xmas eve, Mephisto, my cat, got sick. It has been up and down. We haven't taken him to the doctor, but if his condition doesn't stablize by next week, I'll phone his doctor. He throws up at times. We don't know if his medication upsets his stomach or if there is another problem. |
