You perhaps saw Lazarus's response to my 6 point post. I think that was typical. A country reputed to be a "can do" country. And the response from Lazarus can be fairly distilled down to "can't be done." If you can solve poverty with a wave of the wand...he's for it. Other than that screw 'em, it might affect the number of TVs that I have in house. You've said "if the public knew"....well why don't they know? The information is out there. I think I've seen stories nearly every year about land mines and their affects, poverty in the third world, etc..why don't they know? Do they "not want to know", or are they not reading, or do they not care? There were a number of articles immediately after 9/11 about the surge of people attending church services. A couple of months after 9/11 everything is back to where it was before 9/11. Our attention span and committment is limited to a few weeks...are American kids still reaching out to Afghan children or has it all passed? jttmab
