Don't you get history and learn from it. It's all very simple for you to say planning, I guess you are right, if only people planned. But they don't. Some do, most don't. Tell me, the first time you had sex did you wear a condom? Let's do a survey, how many people on the GWB thread used a condom the first time they had sex? I bet most didn't. I know I didn't. God, I remember a few times how a I had almost a nervous breakdown worrying about an unforseen pregnancy. Also, don't forget condoms are only 97% effective. Gees, I've had a few break. Of course birth control is the best thing in this situation, but I'm talking about a certain reality that exists in society and that is people will get pregnant unintentionally.
