Agreed. But understanding his biased view gives a clearer picture of some biases common among Palestinians.

At least folks like myself can restrain our emotions sufficiently to recognize that this is a battle between national wills, with intransigence and reactionarianism persisting on both sides. But I also know that Israel is a democracy, which means that it's government is a reflection of the national will of the people that elected it. I can't quite voice the same opinion about the PA.


Also agreed. However, even if the Palestinian folk were interested in having a democracy, since they're not yet a nation, it's not possible. (minor point; Arafat would win with about 25% support, per recent polls... but that small percentage in itself lends cause to the possibility that Palestinians want better. Wishful thinking? Maybe.)
