***OT WARRANTY*** I agree. I also agree, Gottfried, that GENERALLY extended warranties are priced very high for very little coverage. I bot my kids walkie-talkies at Radio Shack for $60 and they wanted to sell me a warranty for $25. On the Hyundai, my guess is that they are making the warranty available at close to actual cost as part of the lure to get people to seriously look at what has been considred an "off brand".

I did buy an extended warranty for my '99 Explorer...$1350 from WARRANTY DIRECT for the top warranty to 100,000 miles or 7 years (from new...4 years beyond the factory warranty). The cost/benefit ratio seemed favorable although I am not SURE that Warranty Direct will be as seamless to deal with as a Ford warranty would be. The Ford warranty covered much less and cost much more.
