Nice VISG news. I've been flipping it for a good 15/20% when it dips into th 9's. MPWR and COSN kicking today for me.
William If they did launch on each other, and all were duds, now that would be interesting. I got a big kick out of that thought :) Have a great NYE, I'll be deep frying a turkey in a bit for the festivities.

Viisage Expects Strong Revenue Growth as Trials Yield Orders By Edmond Lococo
Littleton, Massachusetts, Dec. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Viisage Technology Inc. expects strong revenue growth in the second half of next year as trials of its face-recognition software produce new orders, Chief Executive Thomas Colatosti said.
There are ``several dozen projects'' in which the software is being tried by airports, offices, shopping malls and motor vehicle departments, Colatosti said in a telephone interview. There will be more trials in the first half, he said, without elaborating.
Viisage will double its workforce next year to 200 people to accommodate the anticipated boost in demand. That's the largest staffing increase since the Littleton, Massachusetts-based company first sold shares to the public in 1996, Colatosti said.
``We expect to see a strong year and that's why we're gearing up on the hiring side,'' Colatosti said. ``This is a sea change, not a blip that is going to go away.''
The Sept. 11 terrorist attacks lifted demand for security devices and helped boost Viisage's shares more than fivefold since then. Shares of Viisage fell 9 cents to $10.01 in midafternoon trading.
Boston's Logan International Airport will begin a 90-day trial of Viisage's face-recognition system Jan. 14, Colatosti said. Viisage earned $800,000 last year on sales of $27.5 million, compared with a loss of $1 million on sales of $19.3 million in 1999. |
