No one is talking the entire world because neither company (XMSR and SIRI) have licenses to broadcast to anywhere but the U.S. The satellite slots required to beam their service confine them to the U.S. market (and possibly the near-border markets in Canada and Mexico - assuming regulatory issues are ironed out).

If you think its going to be as "easy" to transfer success in the U.S. to Europe or anywhere in the rest of the world (with the possible exception of Russia and China - where a US company is unlikely to get any licenses), you are kidding yourself. The EU and individual country regs regarding communications spectrum is much more tangles than the U.S. FCC requirements. On top of that, you are talking about about 6 major languages across Europe.
