If the tech sector were to collapse, something else would have to fill the vacuum. What would it be? Is the U.S. ready to depend on something other than tech? I understand your example of oil and gas prices. The rise and death of the railroads would have been another historical point to add. What makes you think, though, that "tech" can follow the same pattern? Is there any kind of nebulous entity that can follow after "tech"?
