GE and HON

Jack Welch and Honeywell CEO (Larry ?) were on CNBC this morning and both said that they don't see a V shaped recovery in the US economy. In fact, they both said they see a slow and gradual recovery beginning late in the year.

They cited orders (in general) were not there...a softening in global demand. GE and HON both have plastics businesses...plastics has been a reliable leading economic indicator in the past. Jack and Larry both said that there plastics businesses will likely be in the doldrums for the duration of 2002.
