John, thanks for the "heads up." Maybe I can still find a copy of Barron's.

The gist of the WSJ article I alluded to earlier was that newly discarded stocks may be a better investment vehicle than companies just being added to the NASDAQ 100. The ones being added have usually had a strong run-up, perhaps beyond the point of fair valuation. The stocks being dumped have had their bad news, the stock has been stomped, and--for some--there is hope of a comeback. I think for ARBA to be above $6.00 here on Jan. 1 is not a terrible place to be considering tax loss selling and being booted from the index. Things could be a lot worse. The $64,000 question is "Does Ariba have the product(s) to make a comeback on a fundamental basis?"
