Ever since I visited Disneyworld, I have been ambivalent about Disney. Remember, I am trying to list those whose influence on the world was largely good. Although there is a lot of good out of the Disney studios, I am less certain about the overall impact. As for Kubrick, one of the interesting features of his films is that he served as a sort of bridge between "art films" and popular films, and had a great impact in making post- War film making more ambitious in exploiting the possibilities of the medium. Recent films like "American Beauty" and "Being John Malkovitch" probably would not exist without the influence of Kubrick. I am still not sure, though, and will give it all some more thought.....
