Happy New Year Hawk
But innovation normally comes from smaller companies. And these smaller companies are generally bought out by the bigger companies who have a greater distribution presence and can take these their technologies to the "next level".

This was very true but i think many larger companies bit off much dust and debt and deal with ridiculous earnings expectations as well as currency fluctuations. The ship can't be tightened rapidly as there are leaks that are not anticipated and always are going to develop. Having a promising product in a smaller company with minimal debt and maximum potential, if only because it is small with a consumer first attitude could be the key in my mind to the road out of recession. The difficult part in this is they have to be convinced their is an advantage in being public.
