<If there's a hopeless dependency on anything, it's on the mass media. >

Fred is great! I've read all his archive. His commentary on cyberspace and media is good, "Pondering Web Journalism", article number 125 in that link. As he says, I read his stuff because I agree with him. But it's nice to know that there is more than one of me, as he also says. Personally, I think cloning is a great idea. It works well for everything else we clone, from software to dishdrawer dishwashers to Lexus to CDMA phones. It would make life easier for people too. We clone corn and find that mass production has made life unimaginably better than that of our hunter gatherer forebears [if we are able to cope with the complexity and stress of modern life].

Here's another who I haven't found anything to disagree with yet... he's great too. See his article "Media Fraud". jewishworldreview.com

Gwynne Dyer is another excellent commentator. 142.27.12.158

People will be sidestepping the official media more and more. Our limited brain space means we'll pick and choose and increasingly find satisfaction in cyberspace rather than in mass, lowest common denominator, 'get it wrong' newspapers and tv.
