Gary:

I think Eric was talking idealistically as it should be, not as it is, and with regard to his system of elections. I kinda like the Venutian thing where they wouldn't even let their leaders out during their terms and won't leave them alone either so they can't become corrupted.<G>

Think you underestimate the broken liberal campaign promises. ie, should be thousands<LOL>. Even Mulroney's term was a liberal one, proven when he wouldn't let Wilson slash and burn the higher civil servants in his first budget in '85. Birthday of Reform/Alliance and terminal diagnosis day for PC's.

The Liberals of course all the while are selling our countries gold reserves, rationalizing it by knowing we have much in the ground. Our PM has much more power than US Presidents especially domestically, and if we're not careful, we could get a leader who federalizes all gold taking a page from US when it made it illegal to own gold, in a Trudeauesque "Just watch me" mode.

Just my cynical opinion<G>.

Bob

Usually just quietly cynical as I don't have the answer to the problem, but the rants every now and then help. Trouble is we're all human and make mistakes and politicians who admit their mistakes get disemboweled in public. Ask Joe.
