aircraft, etc. as when bubba billary was in the white house.
That's true, of course. But,...and it's a big but...
The entire military establishment had been almost abandoned
financially and morally during the klinton administration.
bill, hillary, and even chelsea hated the military... and,
repeatedly abused the members of the military assigned to them in
the white house.
I work as a civilian on a medium-sized military base. I
observe and interact with many of the military personnel.
I observed an immediate 'transformation' in the attitude
and demeanor of virtually all the military personnel after
'W' was inaugurated in January. At that time, they weren't
even sure they were gonna get a raise or any budget
increases to help alleviate the terrible shortages of spare
parts, etc.
Then, when 'W' made that speech after September 11, I
observed yet another transformation. A transformation that
reminded me of the attitude, pride and sense of purpose I
felt, many years ago when I was in the military.
So, IMO, todays military is NOT the same military as when
bubba was in the white house... by far.
Our military now have a well respected man as it's Commander
in Chief in the White House. A Commander in Chief that
will NOT abuse them as the buffoons did.
As an aside, a friend recently mentioned to me that he had
heard (I know not from where, yet!) that the military was
running short of some of the high-tech missiles that are
being used in our operations in the Middle-East. He said
the 'shortage' may be hampering some of the future plans
of the military in that area of the world. If that is
true, then bubba gets another black mark against his
already foul record. Long-lead items such as missiles,
etc. have to be planned for, budgeted, etc. WELL in advance
of any possible use. That should have happened on bubba's
watch. Of course the bubba's would probably blame it on
the 'vast right-wing conspiracy' or, perhaps..it was probably
just another of their legendary 'bureaucratic snafus'...like the
1300 FBI files, etc., etc., etc.
