Unfortunately, many Americans have this same problem.
Far too many. There was a time when I used to rationalize it. Large land mass, people are generally not in the proximity of another country, single [sort-of] national language, etc.. All lame excuses.
American news might be American-centric, but the international news is there, not in volume, but it is there. And is it any harder to click on a link to the London Times or CANOE link than it is on the Boston Globe. No one much reads it I suppose.
I've heard the bitches and complaints about the Canadian health system, the waits, the insufficient amount of equipment and doctors, etc..but on the other hand looking at the Canadian infant mortality rate, the life expectancy, the cost of medical care as a %GDP...the Canadians are doing something right. I've got no problem looking more closely at what's going on.
