Hmmmm ... interesting. I love that tax avoidance scheme. There are some rules on adding highly appreciated assets to trusts that are related to the valuation of the shares. Surely they had appropriate legal and tax advice to at least minimize the impact. Not sure how they can call that a "gift", though. Regards, TED
