Won't quibble. I enjoy and appreciate your commentary and look forward to your statistical
analysis. (I thought I was trying to answer your challenge as to how a 60 multiple could be
justified, not that I disown my optimism. I just would not want it categorized as a projection.)

I agree that making projections is a risky proposition, but that does not mean that one should
not try to make them and to base investment decisions on them, allowing for the risks involved.

As for QCOM, I believe I have asked the board before for some guidance on the following critical
projection factors, but without success. Maybe you can help:

Care to take a stab at projecting the following for calendar years 2002 through 2006?

1. Number of cell phones sold each year
2. Percentage of those sales that will be CDMA or WCDMA in each year.
3. Average selling price per CDMA (or WCDMA) phone in each year.

I realize this is a tough assignment, so high/low ranges might be more appropriate.
But without these projections, predicting QCOM earnings does become a bit difficult to say the least.
