I continue to be overwhelmed by the uniqueness and power of The Word of God. Consider these words from Rom. 8
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
These are not mere words written by the hand of man, These are words from the heart of God directed to us. Not for idle chatter or flippant use but are the absolute promises from God for our reassurance and our warfare.
1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world; our faith.
1 John 5:5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Matthew Henry went to London, met a young lady of the nobility, who was also wealthy, and they fell in love. She went to ask her father if she could marry him and he said, "He's got no background, you don't know where he's come from."
She said, "Yes, I know, but I know where he's going and I want to go with him."
